Traditional island with rich history

The town of Hydra Island, which serves as the island's hub, was constructed amphitheatrically around the harbour, fusing architecture and nature. The town was guarded by the Parapets with the Canons on the right and left of the port entrance. The port of Hydra is now crowded with cruisers, boats, and yachts of all sizes. You can stroll through the tourist stores, see the old manors, visit the Museum of Hydra Island, and walk to the harbour, which lies in the center of the town. Additionally, you can appreciate the view of the Peloponnese from the mediaeval fortress town of Kiafa after strolling through the charming tiny cobblestone alleys that lead to the town's old settlement. The primary feature of Hydra is that there are no wheeled vehicles and that people are exclusively transported by donkeys, which further enhances the island's visual appeal. The town offers the rocks of Spilia, Hydroneta, and nearby Avlaki, Kamini, and cosmopolitan Mandraki for swimming. Only boats or sea taxis can connect the town to the other lovely beaches, such as Vlycho, Saint Nicholas, Bisti, etc.
