The Temple of Apollo Maleatas: A magnificent Mycenaean temple with an outdoor altar and an outdoor area for ceremonial dinners was built on the Kynortion Mountain beyond the theatre in the second millennium BC. It was devoted to the god Apollo Maleatas, who was said to be Asklepios' father and possessed healing abilities. This temple united with the Asklepieio, which was built during that period, starting in the sixth century BC. The god's temple and altar, the Temenos (temple) of the Muses, the small temple of Asklepios, and a covered gallery built on a massive embankment were the temple's principal features during the Classical era. Other notable features included the Roman-era large water tank, the nymphaeum, and a sizable residence for the priests.
