A beautiful monestery hidden in the hills

Around 15 km beyond Ancient Epidaurus, at the conclusion of a dirt path roughly 10 km from Pelei village, lies the Monastery of St. Dimitrius Myrrh, referred to as Abbey Avgou, which is part of the area's Byzantine heritage. It is constructed next to and on the northern section of the cliff -Avgo-, facing a gorge that leads to the river Rado, a place that the locals refer to as -vrahia- (rocks).
