Citadel (Acropolis)

The Citadel (Acropolis): Its walls built with the cyclopean technique are impressive in size. Their average width is about 5 metres, their height may get up to 8 metres. Each block of stone used in its construction was 1 to 3 metres long and weighed more than five tons. Tradition had it that the Cyclops cut huge limestone boulders, put them right on top of the rock and joined them together with very little or none carving at all and almost with no binding material.
