Epiphany

The Epiphany is a great annual Christian feast of remembrance of the Baptism of Jesus in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. Celebrated on January 6, it is the third and last feast of the first twelve celebration days of the year. The name come from the revelation of the holy Trinity according to the three evangelical cuts. People go in the morning to the church for the service and the blessing of the waters and then together they walk to the port at the end of the village. When they are all gathered, young people get on the boats and get prepared to fall into the sea. Tolo is one of the few parts of the country where the Cross is immersed in cold waters where the young dive to catch it. The one who brings the cross up to the surface will take it around the village, door to door for the rest of the day.
